I believe that wedding photography should be organic, crafted with the real moments and emotions that make you who you are. My photography style is candid and fun, creating a space where you feel free to be yourself without the pressure of awkward poses and fake smiles.
I create images that tell your true story. Your photos should reflect what makes your love unique. They should showcase how shy, outgoing, playful, or adventurous you are. Who you are and how you craft your day, that’s the story I want to tell.
The realness of your wedding day, capturing your moments unfolding naturally, that is what will make your pictures meaningful.
I am sure you have some questions for me. Here are some answers:
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
My photographs are filled with genuine laughter, honest emotion and the details of your day.
On your wedding day, I'm more concerned with capturing real, authentic, and honest moments then I am with taking photos of your shoes. I want to tell your story in an up close and personal kind of way, a way that most photographers don't feel comfortable doing.
I capture the big moments- walking down the aisle and the first kiss, but I also capture the little moments you may not even realize are happening as your day flies by in a whirlwind of love surrounded by your family and friends. I seek out the emotions of the day, the quirky moments, the moments that will make you burst out laughing or take your breath away when you see them in a photograph.
HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES AND HOW MANY WILL I RECEIVE?
My goal is to tell the story of your wedding day, not to aim for a quota. I edit the images that tell the story of your day and your edited digital images are delivered in a personal online gallery. Since that isn't a solid number to ease your mind, you can expect 30-50 edited images per hour of photography time. I would never exclude an image from your gallery just because I met a quota. I go through each and every image from your day, taking out blinks and bloopers (ok, not all bloopers, because those are great for a good laugh) and hand edit each one to place into your gallery.
From your gallery you will be able to download your un-watermarked high resolution images that are ready for printing! You have personal printing rights to your edited digital images, go ahead, plaster your walls and cover your Mom's fridge in magnets. I do however strongly recommend any prints larger than an 8x10 are printed through the professional print lab right from your gallery. Larger prints require professional printers to ensure you are getting the most out of your photography investment.
You can invite friends and family to view your gallery and they can also order professional quality prints and wall art for their home or to gift to you.
HOW DO WE GO ABOUT PLANNING OUR DAY FOR PHOTOGRAPHY?
I work with each couple from the moment they book with me until their wedding day to create the ideal timeline. The more prepared we both are, the less you have to think about on your wedding day. We will discuss how you envision your day going and with my experience of the flow of a wedding day, we will create a timeline that works perfectly for your unique day.
SHOULD WE SEND YOU A SHOT LIST PRIOR TO OUR WEDDING?
Prior to your wedding, I will send you a detailed questionnaire to get an idea of the flow of your day. Included are questions specifically about any special details or customs that you’d like me to be aware of, your favorite spots around your venue for bride and groom portraits, and specific family photo groupings you’d like captured during the family formals. The majority of the remainder of the day will be photographed as it unfolds naturally rather than off of a shot list.
DO WE NEED A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
I shoot weddings solo. I pride myself on being detail oriented and organized. This is also where working together to create a timeline comes into play, this way I know ahead of time where each part of your day will be taking place and I can be sure to always be where all the action is happening. I know how to read a room and anticipate moments before they happen. I bring along multiple camera bodies with various lens focal lengths to capture your day up close and personal and also pulling back to capture the whole environment. I also bring an assistant with me to help with gear and lighting.
WILL OUR WEDDING BE THE ONLY WEDDING YOU PHOTOGRAPH ALL WEEKEND?
Yes! I never book more than one wedding per weekend and I only book a limited number of weddings each year. I pour so much of myself into each and every wedding and I always want to be well rested and able to give my full self to each and every couple before and during their wedding day.
WILL YOU STILL TAKE FAMILY PORTRAITS ON MY WEDDING DAY, EVEN THOUGH YOUR STYLE ISN'T TRADITIONAL?
You bet! We will work together to figure out the specific groupings you would like to capture before your wedding day, and pick the perfect time within your timeline to do them. Family portraits on your wedding day don't have to be stiff and awkward. They can be fun and enjoyable, and done efficiently so everyone can get back to the party!
WILL WE BE ABLE TO PRINT OUR PHOTOS WITHOUT WATERMARKS ON THEM?
Yes! Your edited digital images will be delivered in a password protected gallery, in high resolution for printing, without watermarks. Along with images sized perfectly for social media sharing, without watermarks
OUR WEDDING VENUE REQUIRES LIABILITY INSURANCE, DO YOU HAVE THAT?
Yes I do. I can provide your venue with my libability insurance if they require.
WE WANT TO BOOK WITH YOU, HOW DO WE MOVE FORWARD?
Wha hoo! Just fill out my contact form to get the ball rolling. I will get back to you shortly. We can schedule a phone chat or meet up over coffee so we can learn more about each other. Once you’re ready to proceed with booking, I send you a proposal and contract to sign digitally, and you’ll make a deposit to secure your date on my calendar. Payments are typically made in thirds, with a deposit at the time of booking, and the remaining payments made 6 months and 30 days before your wedding day, respectively.
