The other day we took at trip to Avery's Beverages Soda located in New Britain, CT.
The moment I walked it I knew it was my kid of place. Memorabilia all over. Small pieces of history every where you looked.
This was the perfect location to document time spent with my family.
Here are some of my favorite moments:
What first caught my eye was this display of items that have been found at the factory over the years. It was interesting to look in and see little bits of peoples live's that got left behind after their time here.
Once we were all set we began our soda making tour. First we started in the area where the bottles are cleaned. I loved to see that a bar of Irish Spring soap was being used in the machine. Once the bottles were cleaned and headed down the conveyor belt the kids packed them into a carton and we headed upstairs to mix our flavors.
After we did some experiment mixed our flavors we brought the bottles back downstairs to be mixed with the carbonated water. The bottles made their way through and then we hand mixed the flavor with the water.
We were able to taste test the Totally Gross Zombie Brain- Juice. After some more taste testing we took a look around at all of the various flavors of soda and picked a few more to bring home.
This trip was such a fun hands on experience. It was also great to learn facts about a local business that has been around for decades.
