Birth photography at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.
This is the story of Jaxson’s birth, born at Saint Francis Hospital.
When I arrived, Sabrina was surrounded by loved ones. Throughout her labor she had multiple family members stopping in to give their support, words of encouragement, big hugs and to share in a good laugh. The atmosphere was quiet, calm, and full of anticipation.
Sabrina was positive and strong throughout her labor. When it came time to push, with the support of her partner Brandon, as well as her mother and sister she drew more strength than she knew she had. For Sabrina’s mother, it was emotional to watch her daughter push through the labor pain. As the hours passed after her water broke and her baby boy wasn’t making his way down further as to be expected, the time came to decide to head into the OR for a cesarean so they could meet their little man. With only one additional person allowed in the OR I gave some massive hugs goodbye and headed home. Allowing Mama and baby to rest after delivery, knowing that I would be back to capture some hospital newborn photos before they all went home, as a new family of 3.
Baby Jaxson, born December 6th 2018 at 2:49am,just after his December 5th due date. He weighed 6 pounds and was 20 inches long.
“I have never felt so strong as a women as the day I went into labor with Jaxson. I was scared of the unknown and so anxious for his arrival. It was like nine months of being pregnant happened overnight and I was about to bring my first child into this world. I was surrounded by the love of my family who never left my side. I would do anything to go back to that day. Giving birth was like experiencing every feeling and emotion possible. It was one of the most amazing times and we were given the most incredible gift of life. No matter how different it went than I wanted it to be because after 36 hours of labor I ended up needing a c section it truly was so amazing.
Having Rebecca there to capture the moments was the best decision I ever made. She was like a part of my family within seconds it was like we all had known her forever. The calming effect she has is like no other. She got to document me from me feeling at my best to my worst and I will cherish those photos forever, they truly are priceless and I will have her capture every child I have in the future. I remember once I finally felt good after my epidural I needed to have my makeup on and she was right there to capture me contour my face and get that perfect glow! Being a makeup artist and all I couldn’t disappoint! I ended up needing an emergency c section so she was so gracious enough to come back a few days later once I was feeling ok and she captured Jaxson just days old. We had so much fun together and it was like I had known her forever. I can’t thank you enough for being there with me and capturing my little love. ”
